Project portfolio management is the selection, prioritisation and control of an organisation’s projects and programmes. Good project portfolio management increases business value by aligning projects with an organisation’s strategic direction, making the best use of limited resources, and building synergies between projects. Unfortunately, organisations often do portfolio management poorly. As a result, they fail to deliver strategic results because they attempt the wrong projects or can’t say “no” to too many projects.
A project management framework defines and maintains standards for project management within the project portfolio. The framework strives to standardise and introduce economies of repetition in the execution of projects.
“Chris's knowledge was most welcomed. He had significant input and experience drove us to bring our project management standard up significantly. Chris and the team added a lot of value with developing our systems and processes.
